By Victor Bieni, Asaba
As the spirit of the seasons, atmosphere of joy and celebrations calls for the remembrance of a yearly ritual historically kept sacred in honor of the birth of God’s only begotten son, the Lord Jesus Christ, the savior of the World, that becon on Christians all over the world today to celebrate Christmas with their families friends, colleagues, and others, the President of Delta State Civil Society Community, has tasks Christians all over the world to celebrate with sober reflection, and a time for genuine salvation and lifestyle full of legacy, sacrifice and service to humanity as nothing is permanent on earth.
The President, Delta State Civil Society Community, Comrade Dr. Martins Kedienhon made this remark today in a press statement made available to some group of Journalists today being on Christmas day, December 25, 2022 in Asaba, Delta State capital as he called on Deltans, Nigerians, and Christians all over the world to emulate Christ’s sacrificial lifestyle as a humanitarian on humility, love and unconditional service to mankind.
The Medical Practitioner turned Development worker who called for a deep reflection by Christians all over the world today being on Christmas day celebration stated that, there is time for everything under the sun, that this time should be seasons of impacting lives positively as nothing lasts forever, that is, nothing is permanent on earth; material things loses its relevance with time. According to him, many who were relevant yesterday may no longer be relevant today, so make positive impact when you are still relevant.
Dr. Martins Kedienhon, then enjoined Christians to show exemplary leadership. He added that, just like himself as a Civil society player, that Christians should be aware that our Lord Jesus Christ was a seasoned, renowned humanitarian, a development worker that during His time deepened the global civic space due to His genuine love and service to humanity, therefore such life is expected of them towards the promotion of global best practices in human capital development.
The press statement by the President, Delta State Civil Society Community, Dr. Martins Kedienhon reads in parts: “What lasts forever on earth? Nothing. I mean nothing. Nothing last forever on earth. Nothing! This calls for deep reflection; yes, a very deep reflection. Oga, Madam, bros and babe; a lot of persons have done more than you, intelligent more than you, connected more than you, eloquent more than you, beautiful and handsome more than you, more educated and awarded, smart and have grace more than you but yet they are no more today or have lost relevance after a period of time because nothing lasts forever on earth; this is also in consonance with the word of God in Ecclesiastes 3:1-8”.
“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace”. In the little time of your reign how well do you impact on people positively”.
“Positively, not just your own way, but positive impact. A time will come when those people that believed and depended on you will no longer take your calls or message you, that will be one of the signs that your time is fading off but the number of positive impacts you made will keep you going and happy but not with your selfish and erroneous believe that never impacted on people positively”.
“I’m a humanitarian and a civil society player same way as you may be and some of you may be in top leadership positions but everyday that pass by I think how well I can increase my impact on the lives of people positively; this will tell well of me when I am no longer relevant and in the position of judgment or leadership. In the future, you may be at the mercy of the people who were at your mercy when you were still relevant, but how well you will be treated if they handle your case will depend on how well you treated them when you handled their case. This can happen to us directly or indirectly”.
“Today is Christmas Day; Jesus Christ came to this world for us but not for himself. His birth gave us hope, redemption, love and peace. Jesus Christ is a Civil Society player and a good leader. He fought for the people, he has the people in His heart and died for the people. How well can you live for people genuinely without selfishness and greed? And how well do you make the people around you relevant as a humanity ambassador?”.
“This is simply because, if you don’t take the relevance of your people important when you are still relevant that means you may not be relevant when you are no longer relevant (this is Human Capital Development). How genuinely do you make people around you feel blessed? Remember nothing lasts forever on earth.
May you all have a blessed Christmas and a happy new year celebration in advance”.
