As part of efforts towards encouraging Youth Sports development at the grassroots level to ameliorate all forms of restiveness and other social vices amongst young people, the Executive Chairman of Ukwuani Local Government Area, Hon. Barr. Possible Solomon Ajede, has been commended by the 2023 Sports Festival’s Local Organizing Committee (LOC) Chairman & Ukwuani Sports Committee Chairman, Comrade Ambassador Uche Odili on initiative and success of the event.
Uche Odili, a two-time Delta North Vice Chairman, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) made this remark today being on Tuesday November 14, 2023 in a brief interview with some group of Journalists at Obiaruku, Ukwuani Local Government Area Headquarters as he thank God almighty for making the event peaceful and a success.
You could recall that the entire Political wards (Ward 1-10) in Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta State recently embarked on a Unity Sports Festival as a unifying factor towards promoting Unity, peace and harmony, sense of brotherhood amongst young people for both players and spectators. The sports initiative at the grassroots was intended to source for local talents and a medium towards reducing drug abuse.
He stated that, the event which ended with Obiaruku-Ward 10 emerged overall winner and first position in Medal Table, while ward 9 clinched 2nd Position, Umutu Ward 1 emerged 3rd Position, Ezhionum ward 7 emerged 4th position, 5th Position for Umukwata ward 4, 6th position for Eziokpor ward 5, 7th Position for Akoku Ward 2, 8th Position for Umuebu Ward 8, 9th position for Ebedei ward 3 and 10th for Amai ward 6. was a great success as he urged the LG Boss to continue in his good works to foster more sustainable grassroots development through sports initiatives.
The seasoned Youth Leader and Sports administrator stated that the sports festival has solved very numerous challenges facing the young people at the grassroot. He added that the initiative is also, a way of encouraging sports amongst the rural populace by
meaningfully engaging them as Youth in sports activities that will refrain them from drug abuse and other social vices as well as giving the experiences that will help them compete both locally and internationally in terms of sports development.
Comrade Odili has, commended the good people of Ukwuani Local Government Area; the the Youth who were participants at the Ukwuani Unity Sports Festival, critical stakeholders, invited guests, the Community Local Vigilante, security agencies for making the event a success, while some of the numerous infrastructural, human capital development, Youth, women empowerment and development recorded by Ajade as Council Boss, described Hon. Barr. Ajade as a good grassroots politician and a man of great achievements as seen in different sectors of Ukwuani Local Government Council.
In his Words: “First and Foremost, I must commend all our Political leaders and critical stakeholders in the LGA that graced this event. The dignitaries which included amongst others are: H.E, Deputy Governor of Delta State, Chief Sir Monday Onyeme represented by Engr. Dan Ossai, PDP Secretary, Delta State Chapter, Chief Patrick Ogeleya, Chief Sir Okemor Fidelis Tilije, Chief Kaine Patrick, PDP LGA Chairman, Ukwuani LGA , Hon suyvor Azuka Enebeli, Suyvor Godday Aboh, Chief Ken Nwaomucha, High Dickson Odogwu (Onotu-uku General) obiaruku, Chief Joseph Olise 10. Chief Isaac Onyesom, Mr. Godspower Anuku, Executive Chairman Sports Commission, Director Technical sports Commission, Director Public Relations sports commission, Dr. Ishimala Okudaye and so numerous others to mention but a few”.
“Apart from Ukwuani Unity Sports Festival, this laudable initiative from the Executive Chairman, Ukwuani LGA. Hon. Barr. Possible Ajede who organized this sports event in Ukwuani Local Government, we can as well count other numerous projects as executed by the Chairman. All these projects are verifiable,. We commend him for the success of the Unity Sports Festival, the first of its kind in Ukwuani Local Government Area”.
“Ajade is Trusted, Proven and Accepted. He a project Master. He constructed a mimi-bridge at Ezhionum, He renovated some class room blocks at Ethiope primary school. Also, he constructed Ultramodern market at Amai, He built Okpala-uku Palace at Obiaruku. He renovated and completed the fencing of Umuaja Maternity, He resurfaced and tarred Agbanga Road. He completed a Water Supply Project at Umuebu. He built an Ultra-mordern Abattoir at Obiaruku . He built another Ultramodern Ukwuani legislative arm. He is currently building another Okpala-uku Palace at Ebedei Unor”.

Hon. Barr. Solomon Ajade is deeply involved in both Women and Youth Empowerment programs at the grassroots. He gave out Scholarships for secondary schools in Ukwuani Local Government Area. He provided Note Books, School bags for primary and secondary school pupils and Students in Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta State”.
