UNESCO Laureate & Vice Chancellor, Crown University Int’l Chartered Inc., USA, Professor Sir Bashiru Aremu, has commended the leadership of UN body, United Nations Global Compact on invitation to participate in September 2024 International Conference in New York, USA as he outlines the roles of Private Sector s then tasks Stakeholders on need towards achieving Successful implementation by the year 2030.
The media learnt this from Prof Sir Bashiru Aremu today being Friday, July 19, 2024 in a press statement personally signed by him which was made available to some group of Journalists in Asaba, Delta State Capital by UNESCO Laureate’s Executive Assistance On Media, Publicity & Communication Matters, Comrade Sir Bieni Victor Emenike as Aremu commended the timeliness of Int’l Conference on Private Sector participation on SDGs’ implementation success. The aim of SDGs is to safe the Planet, People, promote Peace, Prosperity and Partnerships globally.
United Nations 17 Global SDGs implementation or Agenda 2030 means Sustainable Development Goals listed by United Nations targeted at in order to eradicate poverty and realize a sustainable world.
You could recall that United Nations invited UNESCO Laureate Prof Sir Bashiru Aremu to join hundreds of peers from around the world at the UN Global Compact’s annual participant event, the Leaders Summit, in New York. USA. UNESCO Laureate in the release has stated that Private Sector participation will help to reduce or proffer solution to challenges facing SDGs’ implementation.
VC CUICI, USA, Prof Sir Bashiru Aremu stated that, Private Sector has numerous roles to play towards achieving Success in global SDGs implementation. These roles according to him included amongst others are: Innovation and research, Ecological preservation, financing key economic infrastructure, business mobilization and promotion and production or provision of goods and services as well as helping to create employment opportunities, empowerment of vulnerable citizens.
The letter of invitation to UNESCO Laureate by the leadership of United Nations Global Compact to participate at the forthcoming Int’l conference on Private Sector participation on SDGs implementation reads in parts: “UNESCO Laureate, Prof Sir Bashiru Aremu, we invite you to join hundreds of peers from around the world at the UN Global Compact’s annual participant event, the Leaders Summit, on 24 September in New York. From energizing keynote speakers to one-on-one interviews and interactive breakout sessions. We will examine how the private sector can scale its contribution to advancing the SDGs and explore how organizations can move forward faster towards a responsible future”.
