As part of efforts towards providing best recommendations and lasting solutions to the present economic woes, bedeviling the nation Admiralty University of Nigeria (ADUN), Ibusa through its Faculty of Arts, Management & Social Sciences (FAMSS), has Launched a Book on “Contemporary Issues In Modern Economy” as Chief Launcher & Most Dstinguished Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North Senatorial District, NASS, Abuja described ADUN new Book as timely, promises to present same to Nigerian Senate for further actions in line with Book’s recommendations.
The media learnt this recently from the Chief Launcher & Distinguished Nigerian Senator Ned Nwoko ably represented by Engr. High Chief Emmanuel Eboh during a Book Launch held at Vice Admiral Dele Ezeoba Main Multipurpose Hall, ADUN University, Ibusa as he Commended the former Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Dele Ezeoba on educational foresight, assured the University of his total support as he thanked ADUN Management, Scholars; the Editor in Chief: Prof. Moses O. Anuolam, the Managing Editor, Prof. Mercy Ada Anyiwe and other contributors for putting such an important book together.
Admiralty University of Nigeria (ADUN), now a Federal University was established in 2019 by the Nigerian Navy Holdings-a subsidiary organization of Nigerian Navy as a private University. The Book “Contemporary Issues In Modern Economy” as developed by ADUN Faculty of Arts, Management & Social Sciences (FAMSS) was comprehensively compiled as research papers and essays that addressed pressing economic challenges.
The Book covers diverse topic in Arts, Management and Social Sciences.
In a welcome address, ADUN Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dili Ofuokwu, has commended the Guests; Monarchs, Scholars, University Community, and other special invitees for gracing the occasion. While appreciating the former ADUN VC, Prof Omojo Omaji for pioneering the Book Launch, organizers and most importantly the editors and contributors to have made the educational research initiatives a success used the medium to thank all participants for gracing the Book Launch event.
Speaking During the event by the Chief Launcher & Chancellor of Star University, Idumuje Ugboko, Sen. Ned Munir Nwoko, while commending the editors, the Book cover and content quality, stated that ADUN as part of his Constituency has achieved great feat by Launching a Book that could impact positively to the economic fortunes of Nigeria. He noted further that the new Book as launched is timely. That he will support the research & educational initiatives financially and would ensure that it is presented to the Nigerian Senate for recognition and further actions taking based on the recommendations to solve the present Nigeria’s Economic woes.
The Book Reviewer, Professor Ebele Stella Nwokoye had stated:”My job here is review this publications in line with its requirements: A brief review highlighting the book strength, weaknesses and its relevance to Contemporary 21st Century Economy. Also to evaluate the Book’s content, Structure, overall contributions to the field, suggest potential improvements or areas for future research”.
She added: ‘ I commend the editors for a good research work looking at the Book cover, quality, use of varieties of methodology; content analysis, epistemology, survey, qualitative and quantitative analysis, simple language and current happenings in Nigeria Economy as regards the challenges and possible Solutions made the Book very interesting. Highlights of the event witnessed award presentation to Most Dstinguished Nigerian Senator, Sen. Ned Nwoko honored for his philanthropic services, support to human capital development, grassroots, Community development services, Youth & Women empowerment. The event witnessed Book presentation, Launch & Fundraising initiatives as Senator Ned Nwoko launched the book with a sum of N5M, Prof Omojo Omaji, ADUN Immediate Past VC donated N1M, and other donations as it ended with Book signing and Distribution. Those present at event included amongst others are: Delta State Head of Service, Mr. Reginald Bayoko, ADUN Board of Governing Council Members, Nigerian Navy Officers, The Chief Launcher, Senator Ned Nwoko ably Represented by Engr. Chief Emma Eboh, Royal Father’s such as the Ogbuzor of Igbuzor, Obi (Prof) Nwaoboshi and the Obi of Ejeme -unor, Obi Godwin Nzemeke Opune, ADUN Pro-Chancellor, Former Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Dele Ezeoba, Representatives of both State & Federal Higher Institutions in Delta State, Scholars and the University Community.
In a Vote of thanks, ADUN PRO, Mr. Alfred then thanked God for the success of the event as he commended the organizers; The Book Launch Planning Committee Chairman and also the University Librarian, Dr (Mrs) Gladys Onyia and other Members, for their efforts towards ensuring the success of the event.
