The National Chairman, Nigerian Economic Society Female Professionals (NESFP), a renowned Development Consultant and UNIBEN Professor of Development Economics, Economics Statistics, & Health Economics, Professor Mercy Ada Anyiwe has said that, she will on December 26, 2024 deliver a special lecture to honour the invitation of her people, Mbiri Patriotic Union (MPU) to mark the group’s 2024 Annual General Conference
The Guest Lecturer, Professor Mercy Ada Anyiwe Ph.D, FNES, MAEA, FIL, FCAI in a conversation with our reporter today being Wednesday, December 18, 2024 commended the gesture, stated that she is highly elated and fulfilled for such good development from her people.
Anyiwe when asked on the topic of her forthcoming Lecture and Book to be Launched during her town’s, Mbiri Patriotic Union Annual General Conference this year 2024, she stated that the lecture is titled: “MBIRI MY PRIDE”, while the book to be launched is titled: “MBIRI MY PRIDE: BRIEF HISTORY & ECONOMIC HERITAGE”.
MBIRI is one of the Nine Kingdoms of Ika North East LGA of Delta State, Nigeria. It is a rapidly growing Community in Anioma, Delta State, Nigeria with rich cultural heritage. “MY PRIDE” in the topic of the lecture and Book indicates a feeling of Self-esteem of the intrinsic and extrinsic values and cultures of yourself, your people and your community. It is a reasonable and justifiable sense of your own worth and your community worth; something that makes one to be happy, high opinion of one’s own and community’s dignity, importance, merit and superiority cherished on the mind.
Anyiwe, while extending her invitation to the Community members, good people of Ika North East LGA, Deltans, Nigerians and the general public, stated that MPU Annual General Conference will take place on December 26, 2024 at Mbiri Unity Hall Site, Obi Quarters, Mbiri. She then commended her Community’s rich cultural heritage, the Community Leaders, HRM, Dr. Obi Ifeanyichukwu Alekwe II, JP; the MPU President General, Barr. O. Ehianuka and other critical stakeholders for embracing such community development Initiative.
Anyiwe is a strong advocate for Nigeria’s Economic growth and development as her recommendations to Federal Government to overcome the present Nation’s economic woes brothers on shifting towards productivity, functional institutions, robust security, accountability and more effective and less-expensive systems of Government to ameliorate present economic woes such as inflation, exchange rate instability and corruption in Nigeria.
