As part of efforts towards ensuring that Deltans in Diaspora continue with their usual good standard of behavior and excellent ethical lifestyle as well às key into the MORE Agenda policy of this present administration led by Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, Senior Special Assistance (SSA) to His Excellency, Rt Hon. (Elder) Governor Sheriff Oborevwori On Morals & Diaspora Affairs, Ambassador Dr. Favour J.Obakoro (a k.a Vida Modelo), has said that her office recorded numerous achievements, that Deltans in Diaspora, countries visited had expressed readiness to partner with Oborevwori for investments and development.
Ambassador Favour Obakoro who doubles as African Youth Ambassador to Denmark and Spain In Abuja counts achievements since her appointment in 2023, shares insight on her visit to some African & Asian countries. She briefed a group of Journalists during a press conference organized by her office in Asaba, Delta State capital today being Tuesday, January 7, 2025 hinted on the positive impacts her office has made on Deltans in Diaspora during her tour to some countries in Africa & Asian continents.
The Deltans Diaspora Leader, In her welcome address, Vida Modelo has commended the media as partners in progress. Amb. Favour is a young Spanish brought up, refined Deltan, Nigerian appointed as SSA to Governor Oborevwori in 2023. This is the highlights of her eventual Diaspora tour in 2024. She used medium to commend Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for her appointment, opportunity to serve Deltans in Diaspora. She also commended Deltans in Diaspora for the huge support she is currently enjoying from them making her office viable for all to key into the Governor’s MORE Agenda.
Ambassador Favour Obakoro is well experienced in the fight against human trafficking, investments and development issues, her humanitarian efforts and advocacy concerns towards children, Youth and women empowerment Mobilization and development which she has continued to replicate in her tour of some African, Asian, other continents of the world with excellent human and foreign relations approaches.
Speaking to Journalists during the conference gave an extensive overview of what her office is all about- established to promote good ethical behaviors amongst Deltans in Diaspora and most importantly ensure that every Deltans abroad partners with Oborevwori administration in any part of the world. According to Amb. Favour, between 2023 & 2024 her visit to some African countries such as Ghana, Liberia, Malaysia, Qatar, others had recorded numerous achievements. Deltans in Diaspora are working in tandem with the promised UKODO, currently enjoying the democracy dividends of Oborevwori’s Administration.
Amongst other achievements, she had Counselled the Ghanaian, Liberian, Malaysian and other foreign government authorities on the need to see Deltans, Nigerians living with them as good and hardworking people as her life is a shining example to international Community as a model to Nigerian, African Youths. She then urged Deltans in Diaspora to jettison the erroneous impressions that Youths cannot be an appointee of Delta Government, nor see the Governor without paying some sums, that investments in the Delta, Nigeria is not safe and other negative remarks about the people.
She stated that, these stigmatizations happened as a result of wrong use of the benefits of social media by some unpatriotic Nigerians. She had advised Deltans in Diaspora to work with her office and other relevant agencies in the State so as to join forces bring investments and development to the state as Delta is safe for investments, foreign investors. She said the erroneous views about Nigerians has equally led to stigmatization of other hardworking Nigerians living in Diaspora. That Countries visited had seen the need to see Deltans, Nigerians as good people to work with. Deltans in Diaspora are currently working in tandem with Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda.
She had been able to enhance unity in diversity among Deltans through education, enlightenment and setting up of Diaspora Chapters in countries visited via executives formation amongst different Delta ethnic groups in those countries. Also, checkmated the issue of stigmatization of the Diaspora Nigerians to correct some erroneous impressions about sound morality of Nigerians in different countries as authorities and Deltans in Diaspora commended Governor Sheriff for Ambassador Favour Obakoro’s (a.k.a Vida Modelo’s) Appointment; stated that Ambassador Favour Obakoro is a shinning light in Oborevwori’s Government, her sense of hard-work and of global partnerships for a united Diaspora Deltans.
The leadership of those Countries in Africa and Asia, other continents during an interactive sessions with Ambassador Favour Obakoro had promised to partner, key into Oborevwori’s Administration for investments and Sustainable development having described the Governor’s Initiatives as one of its kind in Nigeria, the appointment of SSA Morals & Diaspora Affairs to coordinate the activities of Deltans as Delta State Government won various Awards from Ghanian, Malaysian, Liberian Governments with strong intension to visit, and work with Oborevwori’s Administration to foster development in Delta State.
Finally, when asked to give advice to Youths living in Nigeria and beyond, she advised Deltans Nigerians to use Social Media to portray the country in good light, do things that promotes sound morals, peace, unity and development as well as global partnership for sustainable development.
