As part of efforts to recognize the efforts of Women in nation building towards human capital, Socio-economic development of humanity; any local economy, state, or nation as the real architects of the modern society, The National Council For Women Societies, NCWS-Nigeria, Delta State branch led by Mrs Helen Tsitse Bob-Manuel has honoured the First Lady of Aniocha North LGA, Mrs Mary Nkem Okwuechime alongside a Woman, number two citizens of ANLGC, the Vice Chairman of the Council, Princess Tina Amuziam as group’s LGA Patron, and contributions to Women development.
Delta NCWS Public Relations Officer, PRO, Mrs Bridget Ada Ebomah, who stood in for the State President during event briefed our reporter in Asaba, Delta State capital, today being on Friday, 11th February, 2022 on the outcome of the investiture, awards ceremony that took place in Issele-Uku, Aniocha-North Local Government Area, Delta State.
When asked to brief the press on when, where, who were honoured, the reasons for the investiture and awards to the two Women of substance in the local Government by the leadership of Delta NCWS group, she said: NCWS-Delta, Aniocha North Local Govt branch recently had a “SWELL TIME” at the Aniocha North Local Government Secretariat, Issele-Uku”. It was the Investiture, decoration, award ceremony to honour the the Chairman’s wife, Mrs Mary Nkem Okwuechime as Patron of NCWS at the Local Govt level. And Princess Tina Amuziam as the Vice Chairman of the Council, her contributions to Women development”.
“The ceremony commenced with a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of the Council, Hon Kevin Okwuechime. Some members of the State Exco from Delta North and the Aniocha North Chapter led by the President, Lady Josephine Moemeka were present. The Council officials present at the courtesy visit were the Secretary to the Local Govt. the HPM , the TLG’s representative, the WDO and others. The Investiture/ Decoration ceremony was done at the Exco Chamber of the Council Secretariat”.
The representive of the president, Delta NCWS, Mrs Ebomah Ada Bridget then applauded Hon. Kelvin Okwuechime, who is currently the Executive Chairman, Aniocha North Council for his developmental strides in Aniocha North LGA. Mrs Bridget Eboma stated that, she had in the past served as Head Of Personnel Management( HPM) and Acting Chairman of the Council Area, who also is an indigene of the Local Government Area. She commended the awardees for their contributions towards the growth and development of the Local Government and humanity in general, she made particular reference to some of the developmental strides that took place in the Council during their regime, the LG Council’s Exco Chamber which she said was in a deploable condition before, but now wearing a beautiful look.
She thanked the Executive Chairman and his team for great achievements recorded so far, while she prayed to God, to further enlarge their COAST in good health. Also commended the Councillors and Supervisory Councillors who were present during the ceremony. She recalled the appreciation showed to Delta NCWS by Aniocha North LGC Frst Lady, Mrs Mary Nkem Okwuechime, who doubled as the Patron of the group in the Local Government. According to her, the gesture was a show of love for the group to had honoured them for their contributions to the development of the society.
