2023: Delta Youth Coalition Tasks Rural Communities On PVCs For Grassroot Mobilization.

As 2023 general election draws closer, a Non-governmental Organization, NGO under the aegies of DELTA YOUTH COALITION, DYC, has urged Deltans living in rural communities to ensure that they get their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) so as to participate in the electoral process.

The President-General, Delta Youth Coalition (DYC), Mr. Chibuzor Agunwa made this disclosure yesterday being Easter Monday, 18th April, 2022 during an interactive session with some group of Journalists at Doko International Hotels, Asaba, Delta State as part of group’s good will message on the eve of Easter celebration as he urges Deltans to support in in Deepening democracy in the state by resisting imposition of candidates.

DYC Boss, while calling on Deltans to ensure that they come out enmass to vote for the leaders of their choice, commended the leadership of Independent National Electoral Commission for the new electoral law on electronic transmission of election results, which he said will reduce to bearest minimum the high cases of electoral fraud. He added that, time has come for the citizens to exercise their Civic and Constitutional rights by voting out corrupt politicians, choose who becomes there leader, or install credible leaders in Delta state and Nigeria in general to good governance and participatory democracy in the rural communities.

Agunwa hinted the media that DYC as a highly reputable Non-governmental Organization, NGO is barely one month-old, that group has recorded great achievements in Delta State since its formation; as it has structures in the 25 LGAs of the state, has enthroned grassroots participatory democracy, DYC becoming a household name amongst Youths, Women in communities and educational institutions in the state and Nigeria in general through its stakeholders’, PVCs’ sensitization and global partnership agenda.

He stated that, as the political parties primary election is slated for next month of May, 2022 and 2023 general election draws closer, that the group will continue to sensitize mobilize Deltans, especially the grassroots populace towards ensuring that they get their PVCs to Participate in the electoral process of the state and Nigeria in general.

In the words of Mr Chibuzor Agunwa, the President-General, Delta Youth Coalition: ” We are NGO sensitizing the indigineous and non-indigenes of Delta. We want Deltans to join hands with us, Delta Youth Coalition, DYC to sensitize and mobilize the Youths and Women towards getting their PVCs as part of their civic right and constitutional responsibility to choose the leaders of their choice; use their votes to vote out corrupt politicians and install credible leaders in Delta State, and Nigeria in general”.

“As a group, our mission and vision is to elvolve a mass movement of Youths and Women for participatory democracy and to promote good governance. That is the only way to elect credible leaders. We want people in the rural communities to know that government belongs to all of us. Power belongs to the people. We are working in collaboration with the electorates to elect credible leaders for good governance”.

“We have Credible Leaders in our group. We have gone round, sensitized the grassroots, set up Executives for our group. We are mobilizing Youths and Women across the 25 LGAs of Delta State. We have a standard website for membership drive. We have enough sensitization materials for the job. Our group is well prepared, packaged for partnership with stakeholders”.
