As part of efforts towards Promoting grassroots development and dividends of democracy to the rural populace, The Executive Chairman, Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State, Hon. Duke Tuoye yesterday presented 2023 Budget estimate of N6,917,11499.00 Billion tagged: “2023 Budget of fruitfulness” to the Council’s Legislative Arm as its Leader, Speaker, Hon. Emiko Odin-Etuwewe and members promised prudent analysis and speedy passage, ensure full Implementation to consolidate the codial relationship between the two arms of government at the local level.
The media learnt this from Hon. Duke Tuoye as the Council’s Executive Chairman yesterday being on Thursday, December 15, 2022 in Warri South West Local Area, Ogbe-Ijoh presented the Council’s proposed 2023 Budget of fruitfulness to the Legislative Arm at the Council’s Legislative Chamber for prudent analysis, consideration, approval and speedy passage and full Implementation.
Speaking during the presentation at the Council’s Legislative Arm, Hon. Duke Tuoye commended the leader of the Council’s Legislative Arm, Hon. Emiko Odin-Etuwewe, entire Council management, dignitaries present; traditional rulers, Council’s staff for their support, cooperation and understanding. Most importantly, he thanked members of the Council’s Legislative Arm for the cordial relationship the two arms of government is currently witnessing in the Council. Also, he commended the members of the Legislative Arm to had received the proposed N6.9B Budget estimate for the 2023 fiscal year for consideration, approval, and speedy passage.
The total expenditure and budget size or estimated expenditure and revenue of N6.9B for the 2023 fiscal year as presented by the Executive Chairman, Hon. Duke Tuoye to the Warri South West Legislative Arm had a total recurrent expenditure was put at N4.59 Billion and capital expenditure was put at N2.31 Billion as he stated that this year’s budget proposal witnessed 8% increase when compared to the Council’s 2022 fiscal year of N6.5 Billion, which he said as a result of economic improvement, slight increase in the price of crude oil, the aggressive revenue generation drive and vision of the internally generated revenue Committee headed the Local Government Chairman.
The LG Boss had mentioned, read through the content of the proposed budget to the Legislative Arm, while he then appealed to the members for due consideration, prudent analysis, approval and speedy passage stated that, his administration plans is to ensure that hope is restored to his people, the grassroots populace by providing the needed dividends of democracy, security, infrastructural development, equipping the health by providing equipment to Health centres in the locality; Promoting Agricultural Sector by way of empowering farmers, businesses, citizens who are local investors into small, medium term enterprises in the area as well as Promoting women, Youths empowerment, employment for Socio-economic development of Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta.
The Speaker, leader of the Legislative Arm, and member representing Bateren Ward in Ward South West Local Government Area Hon. Emiko Odin-Etuwewe in his remarks while responding after the presentation, then thanked the Executive Chairman of Warri South West Local Government Council, Hon. Duke Tuoye for presentation as he assured him of the prudent analysis of the 2023 budget of fruitfulness, due consideration, approval and speedy passage of estimated budget of fruitfulness for the 2023 fiscal year for the smooth running of his administration and maintenance of the existing relationship between the two arms of government at the grassroots level.
