The State Coordinator, Core Delta Youth and Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s Aide On Political Matters, Ambassador Uyero Erarawewho Jnr has described the Permanent Secretary, Delta State Government House and Protocols, Sir Edwin Ogidi-Gbegbaje as the father of Nigerian Civic Space while rejoicing with him as he won his election as National Finance And Property Management Adviser of Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRSC).
The media learnt this today being on Sunday, January 8, 2023 from a foremost Delta Youth leader, and Special Assistant (SA) to H.E, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on Political Matters, Ambassador Uyero Erarawewho Jnr as he congratulates Sir Edwin Ogidi-Gbegbaje on his NRCS election making him number three NRCS man in the whole federation.
Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRCS) whose major objectives are to protect life and health of Nigerian citizens, provide support services in times of emergency to accident victims, ensure respect for life, promote mutual understand, good relationships, respect, cooperation, unity and lasting peace in the society was established by an àct of Parliament in 1960 with global recognition as an affiliate of International Committee of Red Cross Society. The Organization has over 500,000 volunteers and 300 permanent employees in the entire federation.
The Governor’s aide noted that Sir Edwin Ogidi-Gbegbaje has helped in no small way towards the promotion and protection of Delta, Nigeria and global civic space. According to him, The civic space is legal, policy, institutional and conditions for promoting inclusiveness, growth of young people and most importantly, for Non-governmental actors to access information, freely interact, freely associate with one another, organize themselves towards service to humanity.
Ambassador Uyero Erarawewho Jnr., while highlighting the various achievements recorded by the Permanent Secretary, Delta State Government House, and Protocols in terms of Community Development Services, promotion of SDGs, humanitarian services, Youth and Women entrepreneurship and empowerment, urged him to do more for Deltans, Nigerians as the election victory is a call for more service to humanity, entire society for socio-economic, sustainable development of Delta State and Nigeria in general.
The statement reads in parts: “The leadership of Core Delta Youth uses this medium to Congratulate our leader, the father of Nigerian Civic Space; SDGs Ambassador, a good friend of Delta, Nigerian Youths, community development expert, a humanitarian, and a good spirited civil servant”.
“May the good Lord Continue to bless you and your family as you continue to invest in human capital development by encouraging the growth of Delta, Nigerian Youths, Women and the entire society in your efforts through deepening the civic space”.
