Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Asaba Branch led by its Chairman, Mr. Precious Nwadimuya has commended Barr. Bridget Anyafulu, the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for this year’s 2023 general elections in Delta State for honoring the group’s invitation for a presentation during short session of “Byte-size Knowledge Sharing Session” as her professional colleagues, the Leadership of NBA, Asaba Branch promised to support her at the elections, tasks her on selfless service to her people, to be good Ambassador of the group in Delta State House.
The media learnt this on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at the NBA, Asaba Branch Secretariat as one of its foremost members, Bar. Bridget Anyafulu, the 2023 PDP Candidate for Oshimili South Constituency Seat, Delta State House Assembly for this year’s 2023 general elections in Delta State as she honored NBA’s invitation for a short session of “Byte-size Knowledge Sharing Session”, she pledged commitment to be a force in Delta State House of Assembly for good and spread the dividends of democracy to her constituency if elected this year 2023.
You could recall that Barr Bridget Anyafulu, a seasoned media guru, Legal Practitioner, globally acclaimed development worker and gender activist, a member of Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), CLO, AI, FIDA, NCWS and others. She holds LL.B, LL.M degrees in Law from University of Lagos and University of Benin. She is the Founder/Executive Director of an international Non-governmental Organization, Int’l Centre For Women Empowerment & Child Development (ICWECD) established since 2004 with a focus on the thematic areas of promoting the rights of Women and Children, support for the development of families and less-privileged citizens in Delta, Nigeria and globally.
Anyafulu who hailed from Umudaike Village, Ogbomanta Quarters, Asaba, Oshimili South Local Government Area of Delta State had served in Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s regime as SSA Child Rights Advocacy, Executive Assistant, EA On Special Duties, and Delta State Commissioner For Humanitarian and Community Support Services was applauded by her colleagues in the legal profession for her decades of positive impact in development works and civic space in Delta State, Nigeria and globally.
During the short session, Anyafulu had encouraged members of the legal profession to get involved in Development (SDGs) as an area of legal practice by holding government accountable as she promises effective and efficient representation; to be good Ambassadors of the NBA at the red chamber if elected to represent her people, Oshimili South Constituency in Delta State House of Assembly come this year 2023. She stated that her passion, genuine and burning desire is to serve and provide quality leadership to her people.
Responding to the The call by the PDP Candidate Candidate, Oshimili South Constituency for this year’s 2023 general elections on the need for NBA to get involved towards deepening SDGs in Delta State and Nigeria in general, the Chairman, Nigerian Bar Association, Asaba Branch, Barr. Precious Nwadimuya thanked Bar. Bridget Anyafulu for the honor done to the group for the presentation.
Barr Precious Nwadimuya then described Anyafulu as a well known community development activist and humanitarian worker to had responded to the call to share her knowledge and expertise in development work with members of the Bar at a very short notice. Also, during the session several members of the Bar commended Barr. Anyafulu for taking the bold step to represent her people at the Delta State House of Assembly and promised to give her all the support at the Elections.
The meeting which was hosted by the Honourable Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice was attended by very senior members of the legal community in Asaba including A.O. Odum, SAN, C.O. Erondu, SAN, A.K. Nmah, Lyna Ocholor, Clerk of the DTHA and Omamuzo Erebe, the Permanent Secretary and Solicitor-General of the Ministry of Justice.
