…..Inaugural Lecturer, Says Nigerians Experiencing Hardship Due To Politics of “Selection”, Not “Election”.

Professor Eugene Okoye Nwadialor, Vice Chancellor, Tansian University, Umunya, Anambra State, has congratulated Professor Mary Ezeajughu, the Inaugural Lecturer for her remarkable lecture as the Institution marks her 4th Inaugural Lecture.

The Publishers of Delta Uhuru & Shocknaija Media (News Online) learnt this on Wednesday, November 15, 2033 at Tansian University’s Faculty of Management & Social Sciences Hall, main campus at Umunya, Anambra State during her the 4th Inaugural Lecture which was delivered by the Inaugural Lecturer, Prof Mary Ezeajughu, Professor of Political Science as she lectures on the topic: “Human Rights Abuse & Identity Politics: Nigeria Election Or Selection”.

You could recall that Tansian University’s Inaugural Lecture started during the regime of Professor Eugene Okoye Nwadialor, The Vice Chancellor, Tansian University, Umunya, Anambra state, who is an erudite Professor of Accounting & Taxation Inaugural Lecture is a public academic ceremony to celebrate a colleague’s appointment, promotion to Professorship. It provides our Professors the opportunity to share their area of research interests, achievements in research, Innovations, engagement and teaching activities before an audience of members of the University Community and the general public.

The Inaugural Lecturer, Prof Mary Ezeajughu, has commended the participants, University management and most importantly her family, husband for their support and encouragement Prof Mary Ezeajughu during her Lecture stated that, Nigeria has a faulty democracy as result of Politics of “Selection, and not Election perpetrated by Political authorities using 2023 general election as a case study.

The erudite Professor of Political Science who lambasted Political authorities to had fallen into the trap of Politics of Selection, noted that “the hopes of the masses were dashed as their votes did not count, which she noted has plunged Nigerian citizens into untold hardship”. She recommended that Political administrators should allow the votes of the masses to count in their various polling units. That merit based promotions should be encouraged, not for mediocres.

Also, that favouritism should discouraged, where friends and family members are given political positions meant for other citizens, while she enjoined Political leaders in Nigeria to into the plight of average Nigerians.

In the VC’s remarks, Prof Eugene Okoye Nwadialor while commending the Inaugural Lecturer for her remarkable lecture, he enjoined other Professors to follow suit, that any Professor yet to do deliver Inaugural Lecture is owning the University, while he urged them to seek approval from the University’s Inaugural Lecture Committee.

He stated further that NUC has accredited all the academic programmes being run by Tansian University even as he urged Anambrarians, Nigerians and beyond to key into the Institution’s Postgraduate Programs as kick-started in some courses.

In a separate interview with some of the dignitaries that graced the occasion, The Executive Governor of Anambra State, Prof Charles Chukwuma Soludo, ably represented by his Chief of Staff, Chief Earnest Ezeajughu who was proud of the academic achievements of the Inaugural Lecturer; research recommendations implemented by International Organisations to had achieved their goals. Also, First Nigeria’s Female Professor Mass Communication, Prof Stella Okunna commended the Inaugural Lecture, academic staff of the Institution, while she expressed joy that the University is moving from strength to strength. According to Prof Charles Onochie, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Tansian University, “the Institution has achieved 4th Inaugural Lecture within a short period of time which he stated the University has moved up in the Nigerian University ranking”.

“I commend Tansian University Management and Staff for the rapid development so far in terms of human resources and infrastructure”, former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Mr Otumba Pedro stated. “The Inaugural Lecturer, Prof Mary Ezeajughu is instrumental to the success recorded in our Department”, said by the Head of Institution’s Political Science Department, Prof Anthony Ngonadi.

The Inaugural Lecture was graced by the media, husband of the Political Science Professor , who doubles as the NYSC Deputy Director, Chief Ifeanyi Ezeajughu who commended and the vision and prayed for the founder of the University, friends and family, the Traditional Ruler of Awgbu Community, ably represented by the President-general, Chief Patrick Ezenaka who commended the feats attained by their daughter and retinue of scholars, captains of industry from far and wide as well Tansian University’s undergraduates and postgraduate students, Management and Staff who thanked God for the success of the Inaugural Lecture.
