Senior Special Adviser To Governor Sheriff Orohwedor Francis Oborevwori On Political Matters, Sen. Emmanuel E. Aguariavwodo has lauded a Pro PDP women group under the aegis of “Frontier Ladies For Sheriff” for the roles played towards ensuring that Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, emerged victorious in the last Governorship election in Delta State, while he urged them to take ownership of the victory recorded by the Party PDP.

Aguariavwodo made this remark today being Tuesday, November 21, 2023 when the leadership of the group led by its Convener/Coordinator, Lady Okproko Ese Joyce, paid a courtesy call to him in his office at Asaba, the Delta State capital. he tasks the group leadership on the need to continue in its good working relationship with Delta State Government.

Speaking at the occasion, the group’s Chief Convener/Coordinator, Ms Ese Joyce Okproko, after introducing its members, read out the objectives of the group and various achievements recorded before, during and after the Governorship election in Delta State. She stated that, “Frontier Ladies For Sheriff” is a support group of young and middle-aged women whose objectives among others are: To support women aspiring for elective positions and ensuring the Girl Child gets educated”.

According to the renowned women mobilizer, the group is a formidable group of women with political structure in the three senatorial districts and the 25 Local Government Areas of the State. The group, she said played a very vital and supportive role in the emergence of the current Governor of the State, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Orohwedor Francis Oborevwori. She added that, the group had during the electioneering process, engaged and participated in all party activities from the Ward To Ward, Local Government campaigns rallies.

While congratulating Sen. Aguariavwodo on his emergence as the Senior Political Adviser to Governor Oborevwori, pledges support, partnership, and unalloyed loyalty to Delta State Government; she restated its commitment towards working with the office of the Senior Political Adviser and Delta State Government on matters as it concerns women economic empowerment, mobilization, development, and most importantly the Girl Child Education and empowerment; also, its intention to embark on ” Back To School” Project to encourage the girl child Education in all Delta Schools.
The group also, called on the Senior Political Adviser to the Governor to take their various achievements as listed to the Governor so as to work closely with the group.

In her words: “As PDP women group, we took the campaign to the streets where women as well as Youths were given voters education on the use of ballot paper. We also played the role of canvassers to have convinced them on the need to vote for PDP, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and other PDP candidates during the election. One of our testimonials as highlights on the above is when we successfully convinced an APC woman leader in Ophori Agbarho in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State to work for our party”.

“We also generated funds among us to produce Aprons and other Campaign materials. This has helped us in embarking on the market Campaign initiative which drew the attention of the First Lady of Delta State and other notable Political leaders in Delta State. This has led to a cordial relationship between our group and Her Excellency, Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori till this moment It will interest you to know also, that during the election, our members worked as party agents, Canvasers and INEC ad-hoc staff to monitor the elections and secure our votes”.

Our visits to your office today is first and foremost to formally congratulate you on your well deserved appointment. Also to identify and pay our Loyalty. We are ready to work with the Delta State Government to play our little role for the overall success of this Administration. “SPOLAD Sir, we are currently working on a project tagged: “Back To School”, which will Kick-Start as Schools in Delta State resume its second term, and our target is the Girl Child.
We are planning to start with one Local Government and later Advance to other Local Government Areas in the State . We also look forward to the support of the Delta State Government and other Donors in and outside the State”.

Responding briefly to the leadership of Frontier Ladies For Sheriff, SPOLAD, Sen. Emmanuel Aguariavwodo then commended and applauded the group for coming, for their committed and unalloyed loyalty to PDP and Delta State Government, while promising to partner with them, urged its leadership to work closely with the Ministry of Humanitarian, Entrepreneurship and Girl Child Development and others so as to promote their ideas and initiatives as it concerns women and Girl Child Development.

The grand finale of the visit has the secretary of the group, Esheti U. Joan, who gave the vote of thanks also appreciated the Senior Political Adviser to Governor Oborevwori to have received them, she prayed for the successful journey mercies of the ladies back home as the meeting ended in joy and a group photo session with Sen. Aguariavwodo.
