Association of Universities of Asia And The Pacific and the World Accreditation Commission, WAC, yesterday, signed a partnership action plan as WAC’s World Grand Chairman & UNESCO Laureate, Professor Sir Bashiru Aremu stated that World Accreditation Commission (WAC) is highlighted committed to its mission and vision statement as a worldwide organisation active in the theory and practice of international quality assurance in higher education, which is an official partner of UNESCO.
In a joint statement today being Friday, February 16, 2024 as signed by the World Grand Chairman of World Accreditation Commission an official partner of UNESCO (WAC), Prof Sir Bashiru Aremu, a Member of World Grand Board of Trustees of World Accreditation Commission (WAC), Prof Sir Baseline Prabhu and Association of Universities of Asia and Pacific (AUAP) Secretary-General, Distinguished Prof Dr. Anoop Swarup which was made available to some group of Journalists in Abuja, Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory (FCT) by UNESCO Laureate’s Executive Assistant on Media, Publicity And Communication Matters, Comrade Sir Bieni Victor Emenike, the two bodies highlighted their strengthened cooperation and a strong shared emphasis on boosting quality assurance of higher education systems.
Association of Universities of Asia and Pacific (AUAP ) will support the World Accreditation Commission (WAC) in various ways such as policy analysis: data analysis, produce scoping study, produce an overall report data collection, publication of research result in line with current issues, trend and challenges in Education and international quality assurance to fulfil World Accreditation Commission (WAC)’s objectives or strategic priorities to produce recommendations.
Association of Universities of Asia and Pacific (AUAP) will support the World Accreditation Commission an official partner of UNESCO (WAC) as institutions poised to conduct an in-depth study of the global higher education landscape and trends across regions of the world.
The statement by the World Accreditation Commission an official partner of UNESCO (WAC) and Association of Universities of Asia and Pacific (AUAP) leadership reads in part, “Overall, the tasks revolve around the following: identifying team of experts for conducting the study and producing report from each region.

Also, in his remarks,Prof Sir Bashiru Aremu the Vice Chancellor of Crown University & UNESCO laureate, Prof Sir Bashiru Aremu, then described research as a distinguishing feature in tertiary institutions. He said academic leaders, therefore, should shoulder immense responsibility in shaping and driving the academic enterprise to promote the intensity of thinking to achieve a well sustained research culture.
