By Victor Bieni, Àsaba

The Leadership of Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC), Delta State Chapter led by it’s Chairman, Hon.Prince Henry J.E Eze (JP), has sympathized with the Military, families of victims on the death of Military men by some irrate Youths in Okuoma Community, Ugheli South Local Government Area of Delta State.

Delta IPAC Chairman, today being on Sunday, March 17, 2024 in a press statement made available to some group of Journalists in Àsaba, Delta State capital frowned at the ugly attack that led to the death of Military men who were on a peace mission to rescue a kidnapped victim over a land dispute.

You could recall that, Wednesday this week, the Bomadi Division of the JTF led by Maj. Jaffa embarked on a rescue mission to Okuama community to free a kidnapped youth, Mr Anthony Aboh, an indigene of neighbouring Okoloba community in Bomadi Local Government Area, who was abducted over the lingering land dispute between the two communities.

The statement by Delta IPAC leadership reads in parts: “We use this medium to sympathize with the Military and families of the victims from both communities in dispute of land matters. Media reports had it that, during the attack, the Commanding officer, two Majors, one Captain and 12 Soldiers, including the kidnapped victim were killed. MAY THE SOULS OF DEPARTED GALLANT OFFICERS REST IN PERFECT PEACE, AMEN!”.

“However, we urged the Military to maintain calm and conduct thorough investigation to unravel the culprits behind the attack. IPAC warn bad elements in the society not to sabotage the peace being enjoyed in Delta State and the implementation of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s M.O.R.E Agenda policy”.

“We therefore called on the Delta State Government to urgently collaborate with the Military and other security agencies to fish out the perpetrators in order to forestall further breakdown of law and order in the State. This sense of urgency will help to avoid inflinching injury and hardship on innocent citizens in the both communities”.

Delta IPAC boss therefore calls on all Deltans to embrace peace and join hands with Government of Sheriff Oborevwori towards building Delta State to an enviable height.
