Professor Eugene Okoye Nwadialor, Professor of Accounting & Taxation and Vice Chancellor, Tansian University, Umunya, Anambra State, has urged “Best Graduating Student” to be a shinning light to the world as he decorated Mrs Umehaso Oluchi with award of excellence to mark the higher Institution’s 7th-12th combined Convocation Ceremony
The media learnt this during the University’s 7th-12th combined Convocation Ceremony held on Saturday, May 18, 2024 as the newly installed Chancellor of Tansian University, Umunya, Sen. Victor Umeh Congratulated the graduands on excellent performance, commends the institution’s Management; Vice Chancellor, Pro Chancellor, Senate, Board of Trustees, Governing Council, organizers, Students on Hardwork.
You could recall that the VC had on Tuesday, May 14 briefed the media on the achievements recorded since he came on board as VC in 2019, and challenges of the University while he called on good spirited, Eminent Nigerians to give more support to the University for quality education. Also, prior to Convocation on Saturday May 18, 2024 where he stated that the faith based, global private University will celebrate the installation of Sen. Victor Umeh as new Chancellor of Tansian University and that the reputable higher Institution with honor eminent Nigerians who had contributed to immensely to the growth and development of the University and humanity in general.
Tansian University VC in his Convocation speech on Saturday had commended the founding father of the University congratulated the graduands numbering about 2, 425 students from different faculties and departments who were awarded degrees in different fields of study. Out of this number 27 First-class Honors Students of University were Specially honored as 944 students bagged Second Class Upper Division Honors and University. He also commended management on support to his leadership over the years.
The Vice Chancellor while decorating the Institution’s “Best Graduating Student with award of excellence tasked her on the need to be good ambassador of the institution, a symbol of hardwork and excellence. Also the Chancellor and other members of the institution’s Board of Trustees had prayed and urged her and other first-class graduates to be a shining light to students and the world at large.
Prof Eugene Nwadialor then commended all dignitaries that graced the occasion, the Visitor, invitees, Students, Management and Staff, parents, guardians and everyone who participated in the convocation ceremony as he congratulated the Chancellor on his installation, graduands on academic excellence, the recipients of the University’s Doctorate Degrees awards on success and long term support, service to humanity.
In his words: ” I must give thanks to God for today’s event to mark the 7th-12th Combined Convocation ceremony of this great University. I thank Board of Governing Council, Trustees and entire management of Tansian University for their immense support Umunya for making this event a success. I must also, sincerely commend the Deputy VC, Professor C.C Onochie JP, Pro Chancellor, Professor Theresa M. Obiekezie, Member, Tansian University Board of Governing Council and Deputy VC, Paul University, Professor Stella Okunna, Tansian University Registrar, Tansian University Bursar, Sir Valentine Ikeanyionwu, other dignitaries and Tansian University Honorary Doctorate Degrees awards recipients, Sir Emeka Ofor Foundation, Government officials, industrialists, eminent Scholars, personalities; Nigerians drawn from both Private and Public sectors of the country and globally”.

Chancellor of Tansian University, Umunya, Sen Victor Umeh in a separate interview with newsmen soon after the convocation ceremony reacted to some media questions as posed to him by the University’s Public Relations Officer, Barr Bony Amalu on while he accepted the appointment and his plans to make the University achieve its mission and vision Statement, attain greater heights in the comity of both Private and Public Universities in Nigeria and globally.
In his words:”First and foremost, I thank God almighty for making this event today a success. I thank the founding father, the management for the appointment and my installation today as the Chancellor of Tansian University, Umunya. I accepted this appointment because it is an avenue for us to build our young ones, promote the course of humanity and quality education”.
Tansian University, Umunya is faith-based and anchored on quality education. The University is founded by a visionary leader to promote and build people with integrity, creativity, good morals, character and service as well as advance the course of humanity. In America we have around 1660 private Universities. But here in Nigeria, we have about 147 private Universities, which is not enough. We need more and private Universities in Nigeria also need support of the Governments as well as to help in providing quality education to our people.
“Private Universities equally need support just like their counterparts, public universities. I will use my contacts, mobilize my friends to support Tansian University, Umunya. And as Legislators we will look into some of their funding challenges to see how Private Universities can as well benefit from TETFUND”
Tansian University”Best Graduating Student”, Mrs Umehaso Oluchi, graduated from the Department of Micro-Biology, then used medium to admonish the undergraduate students to be highly committed to their studies that hardwork pays as she reacted to the media questions on how she was able to attain that feats, also as first-class graduate. Though i studied under John Bosco’s Scholarship, but hardwork is secret of my success”.
