*Fight Against Crude Oil Theft: Senator Ned Nwoko, Senate Committee Chairman, Members Visits Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff As Nigerian Senate Tasks Military, Security Agencies On Inter-Agency Collaboration To Combat Menace As Ned Commends Efforts of His Colleagues, Restates Commitment To Viable Reforms To Combat Illegal Activities That Threatens Country’s Progress*.

As Chairman of the Senate Committee on Crude Oil Theft, alongside my esteemed colleagues, I led a critical working meeting with the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) and his team to address the persistent challenge of crude oil theft—a serious threat to our national economy and security.

Our discussions focused on strengthening intelligence-sharing, improving surveillance operations, and enhancing inter-agency collaboration to effectively combat this menace. Crude oil theft not only drains billions from our economy but also undermines investor confidence and national development. Tackling this issue requires decisive action, and as a committee, we are committed to implementing stronger policies, deploying advanced security measures, and holding those responsible accountable.

In line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, we are intensifying efforts to secure our natural resources, drive economic stability, and create an environment that fosters growth and development. Protecting our crude oil reserves is not just about safeguarding revenue; it is about ensuring a sustainable future for all Nigerians.

I appreciate the dedication of my fellow committee members, whose commitment to this cause is commendable, as well as the CDS and his team, whose efforts are crucial in securing our nation’s resources. This engagement reaffirms our collective resolve to protect Nigeria’s economic backbone and ensure that our natural wealth serves its rightful purpose—advancing national growth and prosperity.

We will continue working tirelessly to drive sustainable reforms, improve oversight, and put an end to the illegal activities that threaten our country’s progress. The fight against crude oil theft is a shared responsibility, and together, we will secure a better future. #senatornednwoko #Deltanorth #Anioma
