******Edewor Condenms Imprisonment of Qudir Yusuf Alabi, 15-year-old Peter Obi’s Protester

The Chairman, Chief Ovo Edewor Foundation, Chief Ogheneovo Edewor, has condemned in all totality the unlawful Imprisonment of 15-year-old, Qudir Yusuf Alabi based on trumped up charges as he calls for unconditional release of the teenager who stood before the campaign convoy of Mr Peter Obi, former 2023 Labour Party Presidential Candidate.
Victor Bieni Media (News Online) learnt this from Chief Ogheneovo Edewor today being Sunday, April 13, 2025 in a press statement made available to some group of journalists in Asaba, Delta State capital as he faulted the trumped up charges that led to imprisonment of Qudir Yusuf Alabi at Kirikiri correctional center.
You could recall that the imprisonment of Qudir Yusuf Alabi had sparked widespread outrage and concern as the 15-year-old Nigerian citizen is currently languishing in Kirikiri correctional center based on trumped up charges levied against him without specific details of the circumstances surrounding the imprisonment.
Chief Ogheneovo Edewor- A candidate of the 2023 Delta Central Senatorial District has called on authorities to see to an unconditional release of Qudir Yusuf Alabi from Kirikiri correctional center as he lamented the abuse of fundamental human rights which he said Alabi rights is protected by both national and international laws.
The statement by Chief Dr. Ogheneovo Edewor (JP) reads in parts: “On behalf of my Foundation, I, Chief Dr. Edewor Ogheneovo Condemn in totality the improvement of 15-year-old Qudir Yusuf Alabi who is currently languishing at Kirikiri correctional centre”.
“This is a total abuse of Alabi’s fundamental human rights as a Citizen of Nigeria. I hereby call on authorities concerned to release him unconditionally. Fundamental human rights are fundamental rights inherent to all human beings, regardless of race, sex, ethnicity, language, religion and other status. These rights are universally recognized
and protected by both national and international laws”.
“I, Chief Ovo Edewor condems the detention of the 15 year old boy who stood before the campaign convoy of Peter Obi the Labour Party Presidential candidate during the 2023 Presidential elections. Qudir Yusuf Alabi is reportedly languishing in kiriki correctional center based on trumped up charges. The imprisonment of Qudir Yusuf Alabi has sparked widespread outrage and concern”.
